Peak Organics out of Portland, Maine makes a black IPA called Hop Noir. I’m putting it on special at the restaurant tonight. Black IPA? Think all the creaminess of a Guinness with none of the heaviness. It’s sharp like a stiletto where a stout is more like a sledge hammer. Hop Noir is choclatey with hints of grape fruit and plenty of hops, plus it’s organic. I think the fact it’s organic mollifies the hops a little, which makes it ultimately drinkable. Delicious.
